As this is my space I have the privilege of going overboard with whatever I like, and Monte Carlo’s two recent wins are certainly worth going overboard over. Not only because he is in “my” stable, but for everyone to see that patience and hard work and thinking outside the box does pay of. Listen to your horses to find out what works, and what doesn’t. That also means listening to your riders as they’re the ones who give you valuable feed-back on your horses reactions. Without it you can’t listen to your horses.
I’ve mentioned the process of “Monty”‘s progress here and the joy of a victory after such a long time trying to figure things out and finding the right solutions is priceless. The first victory was fantastic – no doubt but the 2nd. was of course more important seen as a race.
But that wasn’t really what was on our minds – it was Hanne! We’re sure Monty ran for her and not least won for her. He couldn’t have paid a more beautiful tribute to a lovely lady, who was with him all the way. To say we were touched dosen’t even begin to describe it.
